General instructions for proper use of drugs
•    People who are allergic to one type of penicillins can also be allergic to other penicillins.
•    People who are allergic to cephalosporins may also be allergic to ampisul.
•    Carefully observe the interval between the injections that is given by your doctor and complete the course of treatment.
•    In the case of having history of allergy to penicillins, notify your doctor.
•    In some patients, the use of ampisul may cause diarrhea. Avoid antidiarrheal medication In the case of severe diarrhea and consult with your doctor. In case of mild diarrhea, you can take drugs that contain kaolin or attapulgite. Do not use anti-diarrhea drugs. In the event of continued mild diarrhea consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
•    Do not mix ampisul and aminoglycosides (such as gentamicin) in order to intravenous injection.
Use in pregnancy and Lactation
-    Gains and losses resulting from the administration of ampicillin Sol should be evaluated by a doctor in pregnancy and lactation
Precautions
•    In the case of any allergic reaction, stop injection and consult with a doctor.
•    In the case of skin disorders such as itching, swelling, hives or pimples on the use of antibiotic, notify your doctor.
•    In the case of kidney disorders.
•    If low-salt or no salt diet, you should inform your doctor.
Administration and Dosage
•    Dose for each patient is determined by the doctor.
•    The dose should be adjusted in patients with renal insufficiency.
•    Adults: The usual dose of ampicillin Sol in bacterial infections 1.5 to 3 g  as intramuscular or intravenous every 6 hours. For Gonorrhea infections, a single dose of 1.5 mg intramuscularly together with probenecid 1 g orally. Maximum dose of ampisul is daily 4g sulbactam.
•    Children: It has not been proven innocuous of this drug in children less than a year.
•    Children 1-12 years: The usual dose is not known but it has been used as just a dose of 200 to 400 mg ampicillin and sulbactam 100 to 200 mg per kilogram of body weight, daily in divided doses.
•    Intramuscular injection: Dissolve the content of 1.5g  vials in 3.2 mL or 3g vial  in 6.4 mL sterile distilled water or in 0.5%-2% lidocaine hydrochloride (without epinephrine) solution and then inject deeply.
•    Intravenous injection: Dissolve the content of 1.5g vials in 3.2 mL or 3g vial in 6.4 mL sterile distilled water and slowly infuse for 10-15 minutes.
•    Intravenous infusion: Dissolve the content of 1.5g vials in 3.2 mL or 3g vial in 6.4 mL sterile distilled water then dilute obtained solution in 50 – 100 mL distilled sterile water or 0.9% NaCl injectable solution or 5% dextrose injectable solution or 5% dextrose injectable solution in 0.4%  injectable NaCl solution or ringer Lactate injectable solution and then infuse slowly in 15-30 minute.
Side Effects:
Each drug along with desired therapeutic effects, may cause some unwanted symptoms. Although all of this symptoms, are not seen in one person, but in the case of the following effects, consult with a doctor:
•    Ampisul is usually well tolerated. In clinical trials, it has been observed symptoms such as pain or tenderness at the injection site phlebitis. Less often it can also be seen skin rash and itching and fever.
•    Complications such as blood eosinophilia, thrombocytosis, leukopenia, hemolytic anemia, neutropenia, lymphocytopenia, thrombocytopenia and prolonged prothrombin time may occur.
•    Gastrointestinal symptoms primarily including diarrhea and in rare cases nausea, vomiting, elevated liver enzymes, hyperbilirubinemia and cholestasis hepatitis.
•    Pseudo membrane colitis may also rarely be seen.
Poisoning:
•    In the event of taking over dose amount of this drug, take the patient to poisoning medical center or hospital.
Maintenance:
•    Keep drug below 30°C
•    Do not use expired drug
•    The prepared solution for intramuscular and intravenous injection can be kept for an hour. Stability of prepared solution for infusing, depending on infusing liquid and concentration of the drug  is variable and usually the solutions that prepared with WFI and NaCl are more stable injectable isotonic than others and solution that prepared with dextrose 5% are less stable than others.
Dosage form:
•    Ampisul vials are released in 1.5g and 3g forms.
