Mechanism
of action:
Thin Cold® contains 250 mg of
acetaminophen, 5 mg of phenylephrine and 12.5 mg of diphenhydramine
hydrochloride.
Acetaminophen
is a para-aminophenol derivative with known analgesic and antipyretic effects,
which exerts its analgesic effect by increasing the pain threshold and exerts
its antipyretic effect by acting on the body's temperature regulation center.
Phenylephrine
has a direct effect on the alpha-adrenergic receptor of the nasal mucosa,
narrowing the arteries and relieving nasal congestion.
Diphenhydramine
has antitussive effects by acting on the cough center in the medulla oblongata.
The correct
amount and method of consumption:
The dose of
each drug is determined by the doctor, but the usual dose of this drug in 6 to
18 years is one capsule every 4 to 6 hours. No more than 1.625 grams per day
should be consumed.
