Mechanism of action:

clamox® is a broad-spectrum antibiotic consisting of a penicillin (amoxicillin) and a beta-lactamase (clavulanic acid) inhibitor.

By binding to the penicillin-binding protein, amoxicillin inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell wall peptides and glycans, thereby destroying bacteria. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that alone does not have much antibiotic power, but in combination with penicillins it increases their potency.

Severe infections: 625 mg tablets every 8 hours

No dose adjustment is required in patients with renal insufficiency who require creatinine clearance greater than 30 ml / min.
